Wolf and Grizzly got its start thanks to a Kickstarter campaign and has quickly gained fans around the world with its compact and cool Fire Safe and Grill M1 Edition.
During lockdown Iโve seen more photos of backyard fire pits on my social media than ever. Some have been little more than an upside down plough shear on bricks (I used to use that as a BBQ with a wad of tin foil stuffed in the whole to stop the fat from dripping into the fire)…and some have been medieval-esque works of art.
But for those who are starting to think about getting out into the bush and camping responsibly, then the Wolf and Grizzly Fire Safe combined with the Grill M1 Edition is worth a look-see. RRP is $159 for the Fire Safe and $199.95 for the Grill.
Iโm a big fan of a good idea and all the best ideas are simple ones. Especially when it comes to camping gear, they shouldnโt get in the way of enjoying your time outdoors. And the great thing about the Fire Safe is that itโs so compact, meaning it can be left in your car for unplanned adventures.
The Fire Safe consists of two parts, the base and the walls and itโs made from 304 stainless steel and once set up measures just shy of 30cm square. So itโs not huge but itโs big enough for a fire (itโs not that much smaller than the firebox in my slow combustion heater at home) and with the Grill M1 Edition over the top itโll hold an average sized fry pan or pot no problems at all.
Speaking of the Grill M1 Edition, this thing is clever too. The legs fold up and the grill rolls up. Like the Fire Safe itโs all made from 304 stainless steel and together weighs around 1kg. There are three heights, flat, 6-inch and 8-inch. Both the Grill and Fire Safe come with carrying cases and cleaning gear.
When it comes to fire pits and cooking grills there are plenty of options on the market and they get bigger than this one too. But the thing I like about the Bear and Grizzly stuff is that itโs compact, meaning you can leave it in the car for impromptu fire pit cooking sessions. If youโve got one, weโd love to know what you think about it.
