Check out the Police BMW M850i by AC Schnitzer

Police M850i by AC Schnitzer

Intended to showcase safe car tuning, this M850i has been fettled by AC Schnitzer and is more powerful than the regular bimmer.

Hold up a second. Donโ€™t let the police livery fool you, this AC Schnitzer tuned M850i isnโ€™t about to join the German Police. Rather itโ€™s part of a safety campaign around tuning cars.

The initiative is called โ€œTune it! Safe!โ€ and the aim is to prove that tuning vehicles can be safe. This year, AC Schnitzer is supporting the campaign along with the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure and this tuned M850i is the hero of the piece. The idea is that it shows off a range of approved performance parts for a premium vehicle.

โ€œThe aim of the initiative is to use a campaign to draw attention to homologated and safe tuning and to show that sensational vehicles with road registration are possible,โ€ AC Schnitzer said.

The AC Schnitzer tuned M850i makes 620hp now (up from 530hp). Thereโ€™s also a sports exhaust including two active flaps to allow the full noise to escape, and two โ€˜Carbon Sportโ€™ tailpipes. The suspension has been lowered 20mm at the front and around 30mm at the rear. There are carbon skirts, wings and a splitter. On the inside there are black anodised aluminium AC Schnitzer flappy paddles, pedals and footrest and more.

The wheels are AC Schnitzer AC3 flow formed rims in matte anthracite measuring 9.0 x 21 inches at the front and 10.0 x 21 inches at the rear. These are wrapped in Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 tyres.

The Police BMW M850i by AC Schnitzer will go on display at BMW Welt this weekend and make its way to shows around the country. Showing that, โ€œtuning from Germany can make the hearts of car fans beat faster and still be safeโ€.
