The 2021 Mazda BT-50 will go on-sale in Australia from October and will be available, initially at least, only as a dual-cab.
Mazda has announced the 2021 BT-50 will go on-sale as a dual-cab only with additional body styles joining the lineup later. The all-new BT-50 which shares much of its underpinnings with the new Isuzu D-Max will go on-sale here from October.
Mazda will offer a choice of 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains, six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions and Dual Cab Chassis or Dual Cab Pickups for the new BT-50. Thereโll be three variants at launch, XT, XTR and GT.
Under the bonnet will be the same engine thatโs in the D-Max, a 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine making 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque. Weโre expecting this engine to feel the same as it does in the D-Max, meaning itโs nice and refined (read: quieter than the old Isuzu 3.0L) and when paired with the six-speed automatic it should be smooth and offer decent engine braking when used in manual mode.
So, what will you get on the various model grades?
