The 2021 Toyota Yaris Cross will sell from $26,990+ORC when it goes on sale next Monday (2 November).
Based off the around-town Yaris, the Yaris Cross is Toyotaโs first foray into the compact crossover segment delivering what it claims is, โthe perfect blend of city style and SUV functionality to appeal to youthful, active, urban dwellersโ.
The Yaris Cross is available in nine variants with a choice of 2WD petrol, or 2WD and electric AWD hybrid versions, in three grades: GX; GXL; and Urban.
The 2WD petrol variants are powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine making 88kW/145Nm, running to the front wheels via a CVT. Two-wheel drive hybrid versions of the Yaris Cross also use the 1.5-litre three-cylinder combined with two electric motor generators. The AWD variants gain a third, rear-mounted electric motor that works to provide extra traction when needed. Drive torque can be split between 100% to the front wheels and up to 40% to the front and 60% to the rear.
Standard features across the entire range include climate control, smart entry and start, adaptive cruise control, rear view camera and infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. GXL and Urban grades gain satellite navigation, LED headlights and further safety features including Blind Spot Monitor and a panoramic view rear view camera while the top-of-the-range Urban models also get larger 18-inch alloys (16-inch for GX/GXL), power driver and heated front seats, and a power tailgate with kick-to-open sensor.
