Arriving Down Under soon is the just-released Axial 1/10 SCX10 Jeep Gladiator JT 4WD RTR, selling from $969.99.
Axial is the only RC brand thatโs officially recognised by Jeep, and the 1/10 SCX10 Jeep Gladiator JT 4WD RTR features plenty of realistic looking bits and bobs, including a replica V8 engine to house the front-mounted 540 brushed motor, mated to a realistic transmission housing and transfer case like a full-size vehicle.
One of the coolest features of the Gladiator is the out-of-the-box third-channel DIG function (check out the video below), this lets you lock the rear axle via the transmitter for front-wheel drive and a tighter turning radius, it’s called a Front Dig by those who rock crawl.
โThough locked out from the factory, you can set up the vehicle to have a 40% faster second gear instead of DIG โ or, by adding another micro servo and using a radio with at least four channels (such as the 5-channel Spektrum DX5), have simultaneous access to both the DIG and two-speed functions,โ Axial said.
For flexibility and clearance when off-road, the SCX10 Gladiator runs AR45 portal axles, check out the video to see the flex on the thing. The standard battery tray is positioned near the vehicleโs centre for improved balance and accepts full-size LiPo or NiMH packs. There are also locations in the side pods for drivers who want to run โshortyโ LiPo packs.
The body looks like the real thing with more than 20 injection-molded parts, like the bed rack, door handles, mirrors, bonnet vents and more. Officially licensed Nitto Trail Grappler tyres on 3-piece beadlock wheels round off the look. The Axial 1/10 SCX10 Jeep Gladiator JT 4WD RTR is available to order now from $969.99 in Australia with deliveries expected to begin in the next few weeks.
