The Ford Bronco Overland concept wants to head bush and wait for all this Covid nonsense to die down. Don’t we all.
Based on the four-door Bronco Badlands, it’s been built to kick off this year’s Bronco Super Celebration East. It’s kind of like Jeep’s Easter get together in Moab.
Painted in Area 51 colour which we love it’s got 36-degree pod lighting and a UHF CB radio with antenna.
It runs Bronco’s smaller 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine which is mated to a seven-speed manual transmission, and runs 17-inch Fifteen52 Turbomatic heavy-duty wheels in asphalt black wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich LT315/70R-17 mud-terrain KM3 tyres.
There’s a Ford Performance by Warn winch mounted on a steel bumper at the front and two-person roof-top tent from Yakima sitting on a factory roof rack and a rack-mounted lightbar. In the back is an ARB fridge, cooking kit and stove mounted on a cargo management system, and there’s a fold-up table and chairs stuffed into the back too. The rear quarter window glass has rigid panels with MOLLE grids mounted inside for additional rear cargo area storage.
It’s a shame we won’t get the Bronco officially in Australia but like a lot of things there are a handful of conversion mobs that are putting their hands up to bring the things in a swap them to right-hand drive.
