Mini has teased photos of its electric Mini JCW being tested at the Nurburgring in Germany but sadly we know nothing else about itโฆyet.
Every single car maker on the planet is falling over itself to electrify its range of vehicles. And while electric vehicles are very quick, they donโt necessarily get the pulse racing. So, the news of an electric Mini JCW is welcome indeed.
Mini is playing its cards very close to its chest and is saying nothing. Indeed, the camouflaged vehicle you see in these pictures is a current model Mini JCW which is being used as a test mule.
Take a closer look and you can see the grille has been blanked off and there are no exhaust tips on the mule.
โWith the MINI Electric, weโve shown how well brand-typical driving enjoyment and electric mobility can be combined,โ says Bernd Kรถrber, Head of the MINI brand. โNow itโs time to translate the passion for performance of the John Cooper Works brand to electromobility. Thatโs why weโre working to develop concepts for electric John Cooper Works models.
โJohn Cooper Works models with conventional combustion engines will still continue to have an important role to play, to make sure weโre addressing the wishes and needs of performance enthusiasts all around the world,โ Kรถrber said. โWith this new focus on electric performance, weโre also creating the opportunity to sharpen the distinctive profile of the John Cooper Works brand more than ever before.โ
