Hyundai i20N teased

The Hyundai i20N has been teased today boasting a delicious snap, crackle and pop soundtrack.

The Hyundai i20N will lob Down Under soon and to get the blood pumping, Hyundai has teased the exhaust note of the thing. Hyundai is calling the i20-based hot hatch a proper racetrack-capable hatch that’ll go head to head with the Ford Fiesta ST and Toyota’s mental Yaris GR.

Details are thin but we know styling will use Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness language with a larger air intake at the front to get air into the turbo and help cool the brakes. It’ll sit on 18-inch alloys with N-branded brake callipers, and a “distinctive rear spoiler enhances its aerodynamic performance so that it is fun to drive on any road and in all weather conditions,” Hyundai said.

The engine is a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual only. It’s front-drive only and a limited-slip differential is standard fitment. And you’ll be able to left-foot brake in the i20N because the system’s been tuned to allow it. Sweet. We can’t wait to drive this thing.
