Hyundai has released the first set of design sketches for the new i30 Sedan N-Line which will replace the long-serving Elantra.
Ignore the name on the car in these sketches. Locally, the i30 Sedan N-Line will replace the Elantra. And we reckon it looks pretty good with its “low and wide styling” as well as Hyundai’s signature cascading grille, N-Line badging and “motorsport-inspired air intake”.
The i30 Sedan N-Line will (be seen as an entry into the N brand) arrive standard with 18-inch alloys and bigger brakes than the Elantra it replaces. And, in N-Line tradition, all of the side mirrors, window accents and side skirts are all finished in gloss black.
Speaking about the vehicle, Thomas Schemera, Executive Vice President, Head of Product Division at Hyundai Motor Group said,“i30 Sedan N-Line offers a more aggressive design that incorporates N-Line’s signature red accents inside and out at an attractive price.
“This will definitely satisfy those who are looking to join the Hyundai N community.”
If you’re still a bit confused by the name on the car, don’t be. Locally it’ll be the i30 Sedan N-Line, while in other markets it’ll be the Elantra N-Line. Hyundai hasn’t said what engine it’ll run, but we expect it to carry on with the i30 Hatch N-Line’s 150kW/265Nm turbocharged petrol engine.
