Lockdowns have made it hard, but Just 4 Kids is fighting to bring back their fun adventures.
As a lover of all things with motors, particularly those that head off on exciting adventures I was thrilled when I heard about Just4Kidsโ and their efforts at raising funds. So excited in fact that I wanted to take a moment to tell you all a little bit about this amazing team, what they have achieved and how they are trying to get things back on track for the end of 2021 and into 2022.
Firstly a little bit about Just4Kidsโ cause it would make sense for you to know what Iโm talking about.
Just4Kidsโ mission is to help make a positive & lasting difference in the quality of the life of sick or disadvantaged children and youth under 18yrs. They endeavour to support those in their local community by using funds to purchase vital medical & support equipment for those in need.
Just4Kids have no paid staff, relying solely on the dedication of their team of experienced and passionate volunteers. Prior to the COVID 19 restrictions they have held a yearly tag along motor trail covering areas such as Cape York, Simpson Desert, Crocodile Safari, Surf to Snow, Beach to Bay and the events are fully catered for by their qualified chefs.
What they have achieved over the years through these events is actually pretty impressive, not only from a fundraising point of view but also from the ability to organise some really awesome adventures.
In saying that, their upcoming trip at the end of September and their Holiday with a Difference in 2022 really knock things out of the park!
I can hear you saying. โTroy, stop leaving us in suspense, tell us more about these awesome adventures.โ Well, wait no more!
The September trip is called Queensland Dinosaur Trail. There is obviously no prizes for guessing where this is happening or what the adventure is all about. The adventure starts in Charters Towers and takes 10 days to get down to Winton passing many of the dino hotspots along the way. Personally, id be most excited about heading to Eromanga to visit the site of Australia’s newest and largest dinosaur Cooper.
If you are as excited about this trip as I am, I would recommend that you jump over to the Just4Kidsโ Dino Adventure page and register your interest. I know that they have a very limited number of spots due to some secret but exciting things that they have planned.
The Kimberly Holiday with a Difference is the 2022 adventure that will be here before you know it. Mark – Motor Trails Director – told us that this trip has been on the planning board now for well over 4 years with a good 12 months of prep prior to its postponement earlier this year. By the time it rolls around it will be over 5 years and 24 months, so we are expecting a pretty awesome adventure.
This massive, nearly month-long, adventure is going to be fully catered for by our team of chefs and we have so many great experiences lined up it amazes even me, Mark told us. The trips are also full of events, games, charity raffles and fun organised with the local communities.
Starting in Alice Springs, this adventure winds through the Northern Territory and into WA heading through places like Wolfe Creek Crater, Bungle Bungles, Cape Leveque, Windjana Gorge, King Leopold Ranges, Gibb River Road, Lake Argyle, Victoria River and finally ending in Katherine. If that isn’t one cracker of a trip then I don’t know what is!
It might still be a few months away, but if you are interested make sure to get in touch with the team at Just4Kidsโ now.
Having spoken with a few of the Just4Kidsโ volunteers I know how much they are looking forward to these two events and I really get a sense of how much fun they will be.
It is an exciting 12 months coming up for the team and so much opportunity to raise some much-needed funds. So if youโre keen, anyone from anywhere is welcome and the Just4Kidsโ team would love you to get involved!
