Who doesn’t want a Lamborghini parked out front of their house? All-new Huracan EVO RWD Spyder revealed via augmented reality.
Lamborghini has revealed its all-new Huracan EVO RWD Spyder via augmented reality allowing everyone to park one virtually on their driveway and look around it.
Beyond the techno-trickery of the reveal, the Huracan EVO RWD Spyder, in case you haven’t noticed, is a drop-top (Spyder). Imagine how good the 5.2L V10 would sound…it makes 449kW and 560Nm of torque and it’ll get to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds and rip all your hair out by the roots on its way to a top speed of 324km/h.
If you’re a number cruncher, you’ll have spotted those numbers are slightly down on the coupe version but that’s because the reinforced body of the Spyder weighs a substantial 120kg more (1509kg).
Like the coupe, the Spyder gets a new front splitter and vertical fins within the larger, framed front air intakes characterize, the rear bumper in high gloss black incorporates a new unique diffuser. Front:rear weight distribution of 40:60. Ventilated and cross-drilled steel brakes are fitted to 19-inch Kari rims with specially-developed Pirelli P Zero tires, with optional 20-inch rims and carbon ceramic brakes.
The torque vectoring system has been binned for a tweaked version of the P-TCS traction control system and, of course, there are a host of driving modes. The ANIMA button on the steering wheel adjusts the P-TCS via a series of different modes. STRADA provides stability and safety in all conditions by making the traction control more savage and reducing torque in low-grip conditions. In SPORT mode, you cand rift to your heart’s content, although torque is limited when oversteer angles increase rapidly; because the car thinks you’ve overcooked it and are about to end up in a tree. CORSA mode optimizes the car’s traction and stability when firing out of corners or going for a record-setting lap time.
The Spyder’s soft-top roof stows within 17 seconds under the rear hood, even while driving up to a speed of 50km/h.
As you can see in the picture above we had a play with the augmented reality app, which you can try HERE (on your smartphone) and it takes a couple of taps to get it to work. It’s not amazing but it is kind of cool.
