This is the electric Skoda Enyaq iV SUV which promises a range of up to 510km. Here are all the details.
Meet Skoda’s new electric SUV, the Enyaq iV. It’s the brand’s first electric vehicle to be based on Volkswagen Group’s modular MEB electric vehicle platform, can be had as rear- or all-wheel drive and it promises a driving range of up to 510km.
There are three battery packs for the Enyaq iV and five output levels, ranging from 109kW to 225kW for the RS variant, with torque ranging from 220Nm to 460Nm. The RS variant will hit 100km/h in just 6.2 seconds. The Enyaq iV measures 4649mm long, 1879mm wide, 1616mm high and 2765mm for the wheelbase (the boot offers 585 litres of storage). Indeed, Skoda reckons it’s roomier than a Kodiaq.
In terms of charging times, well, it varies depending on the battery pack and the charger you’re using. But, for example, the 83kWh battery can be charged from 5-80% using a super-fast DC charger in just 38 minutes, or overnight (six to eight hours depending on the battery you’ve got) if you’re using a conventional socket. But enough numbers.
The Enyaq iV has a crystal face. Yep, choose one of the top-spec models and you’ll have 130 LEDs in the grille which light up, gets Skoda’s LED Matrix headlights, gloss black elements, a cost-optional panoramic roof and wheels range in size from 18 to 21 inches.
On the inside, the 13-inch infotainment screen will grab your attention and there’s a digital instrument display instead of analogue dials because, well, electric car, so, why not. Laura is the name of Skoda’s digital virtual assistant and she understands up to 15 languages and she’s even able to handle, according to Skoda, colloquial phrases in the languages she speaks.
Being a Skoda, the Enyaq iV is properly practical with things like the 6.2 litre Jumbo Box under the centre armrest and still another storage space under the centre console offering 11.4 litres of space. The front and rear doors will hold 1.5L bottles, there are phone holders and tables on the backs of the front seats, there’s a cargo net for the boot, and a storage compartment in the front doors with an included umbrella.

The Enyaq iV is made in Skoda heartland, Mladá Boleslav, making our main plant the only production facility for MEB-based vehicles in Europe outside Germany. There’s no word yet on pricing or whether the Enyaq iV will make it Down Under but we’d expect, the way the world is going, that it will definitely be on the radar of the local mob.
