New Ducati XDiavel Cruiser variants Revealed

Ducatti XDiavel

The Ducati XDiavel is the result of the โ€œcontamination between two apparently different universesโ€…um, okay.

Press releases contain some weird sh!t from time to time but this one announcing the XDiavel Cruiser from Ducati is easily the weirdest Iโ€™ve read in ages. Read a little deeper and itโ€™s clear someone ran this through an old version of babelfish.

โ€œXDiavel is a cruiser with Ducati genes; the result of the contamination between two apparently distant universes. The relaxed pace at low speed typical of the Cruiser world and the adrenaline of Ducati’s own sporty riding both find space in this elegant, technological and fun bikeโ€. I get what they mean.

Okay, so there are two new variants in the XDiavel range, the Dark and Black Star. And the entire Diavel range is now running Euro 5 compliant engines which are smidgen gruntier than they used to be (8hp gruntier). And the bike is 2kg lighter.

The XDiavel Dark is proper stealth with its all-black styling, with the mechanicals and more all black now. Love it. The Black Star variant, on the other hand, blends black, grey and flashes of red. And the seat is now finished in a grippy suede-type fabric.

Overseas the Dark and Black Star variants will be available from the end of this month. Weโ€™re still waiting to hear when itโ€™ll be available in Australia.
