When it comes to choosing a swag for two the new-generation 23Zero Outbreak swag offers a massive width of 1550mm, we take a quick look.
This thing is more of a swent than a swag. See, most double swags (for two people) run to about 1300mm wide but the new 23Zero Outbreak swag runs to a staggering 1550mm wide and 1002mm high, which means thereโs stacks of room for two people plus gear.
Claimed to be a four-season touring swag, the Outbreak measures 2300mm long and 1550mm wide and, if you look at the pics youโll see the walls of the thing are just about vertical.
A cool feature of the Outbreak are the twin โstargazing roofsโ allowing you to watch the stars at night with all screens boasting zippered mesh to keep out the bugs. And there are full zip down storm covers too as well as gusseted window awnings at either end. These, according to 23Zero allow for controlled airflow to reduce condensation inside the swag in wet conditions. A tropical fly is also included in the kit.
Most swags feature a tough 320-360gsm canvas. The Outbreak boasts 400gsm โtightly woven proofed and balanced plain weave poly cotton blend canvasโ. All seams are double stitched (501 lock stitch twin needle) using Tex 90 poly cotton thread. And all seams are fully sealed.
To keep you comfortable on rough ground the Outbreak has a fully fitted 70mm hi-density foam mattress, 16 mm diameter anodised segmented dome poles, anti-corrosive easy to use alloy trigger lock adjustable ridge pole and a HF-welded PVC bucket floor, which means you donโt need to set you swag on a tarp to keep the underneath dry.
The Outbreak comes in its carry bag and when rolled up and stored measures 1.6m long by 0.39m wide and high. And it weighs 18.5kg. The warranty is 24 months.According to 23Zero, new stock of the Outbreak will be available from August with pricing currently showing as $599.99 which is down from $699.99.
