Quick Look at the 12V Dometic TRT120E roof top tent

Dometic TRT120E roof top tent

The new Dometic TRT120E roof top tent has lobbed Down Under and boasts an electric motor and remote control to raise and lower the tent.

Roof top tents are hugely popular right now and there are a range of ones on offer but, by and large theyโ€™re all more or less the same. The new Dometic TRT120E has gone on-sale in Australia and itโ€™s just a little bit different, boasting an electric motor and remote control.

This means thereโ€™s no need to fiddle around with poles. You simply pull up where you want to camp, remove the travel cover from the roof top tent and, at the press of a button, your tent sets up itself and youโ€™re cracking a coldie even quicker.

Priced at $2499, the powered TRT120E boasts a five-centimetre thick high-density foam mattress. The tent itself has a UPF50+ protection rating and is made of a two-layer construction which Dometic claims will be suitable for even the coldest of climesโ€ฆ And thereโ€™s a water-proof cover if the weather turns nasty.

There are two double layered windows which means you can keep the bugs out but let the air in, or zip up the inner screen for privacy. The tent weighs 54.6kg including the ladder and has an internal length of 2000mm, height of 1100mm and width of 1200mm which means itโ€™ll sleep two people comfortably.

To take advantage of this 12V roof top tent, obviously, youโ€™ll need a power source to plug into and then Dometic reckons it only takes a few minutes to set up. Once youโ€™ve finished the cables stash away in the included zippered pouches. There are also two included boot bags.

So, Internet, what do you think?
