Canโt beat a good bit of retro design…Meet the Alpha Wolf EV truck that harks back to the Subaru Brumby and original HiLux.
Meet the Alpha Wolf. Revealed yesterday in the US, it follows hot on the heels of the compact Canoo pick-up and we love it. Part of a family of EV vehicles, all sharing the same skateboard platform, the Alpha Wolf is like a modern take on an old HiLux…and could even serve as a reborn wannabe Subaru Brumby.
Like Canoo, Alpha plans to begin customer deliveries in 2023. Details are still tight but a quick wander around the Alpha website is enough to tell you this company loves cars. I mean, check out the Ace Performance Edition and tell me it doesnโt look like a modern take on the Torana SLR 5000 with its squared snout and bumped guards. And the Jax looks like the ultimate cross-country rally special.
But, back to the Wolf. How cool does it look? According to Alpha itโll be available as either a single motor front-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive, will get to 96km/h in around 6.2 seconds and has a driving range of more than 320km, and a towing capacity of 1360kg with rapid charging capability.
The Wolf is a two-seater and measures 4765mm long, 1930mm wide and 1685mm high, the bed measures 1652mm long and 1490mm wide. But thatโs about it for specs. We donโt know about ground clearance or suspension or even what motor the Wolf will get. All we do know is that itโs easily one of the coolest EVs weโve ever seen.
So, Internet, what do you think, is this the EV pick-up truck youโd park in your driveway?
