Subaru Forester 2.5i Sport will join the local lineup from October with non-hybrid Foresters getting a towing bump to 1800kg.
Subaru Forester buyers will, from October, have another model to choose while all non-hybrid Forester buyers will enjoy a 300kg braked towing bump to 1800kg (up from 1500kg). The new Forester 2.5i Sport will list from $41,990+ORC.
Itโs a good looking machine and adds 18-inch alloy wheels in a dark metallic finish, LED front fog lights, balck coloured grille surrounds instead of chrome, front, side and rear under guards with orange highlight, roof rails with orange inserts, exterior Sport badging, and an electric sunroof.
On the inside, those who plan to use their Forester in the bush will like the water-repellent grey cloth trim. The orange highlights continue with air vent surrounds, shift panel and contrast stitching. Thereโs a tailgate light (LED) and cargo light (LED) too.
As youโd expect, Subaru Australia Managing Director, Christian Dinsdale, said: “We are delighted to offer even more choice in the Forester range.
“2.5i Sport AWD is the third variant we have added to the initial four offerings in the current generation and it’s an eye-catching and practical wagon that only enhances Forester’s customer appeal.”
He added: “The 300 kg increase in towing capacity for non-hybrid variants also represents a significant advance, which will convince a broader set of customers to consider Forester for its practicality across a whole set of parameters.”
Weโve asked Subaru Australia how it managed to bump up the towing capacity and will update this article when we hear back.
