Itโs probably one of the worldโs lowest mileage WRX STi 22Bs and itโs for-sale in the UK via Appreciating Classics for just, ahem, $532,000.
One of my most favourite ever cars, the Subaru WRX STi 22B is an icon of the motoring world. Only 424 were built to celebrate Subaruโs hat-trick dominance of World Rally from 1995 to 1997. And this one was purchased brand-new via Japan in 1998, shipped to the UK and stored away as an investment.
It was driven just a handful of times but if the photos are anything to go by this thing is in mint condition.ย According to Appreciating Classics, the agent tasked with selling this beastie, this 22B has been, โDriven only a couple of times when new, and then the car has been stored away with regular starting and turning of wheels to ensure all was still good as it should beโ. The decision to list the car comes after the owner passed away.
Once Appreciating Classics took possession of the 22B, โwe performed a full service where we removed the original cambelt, pulleys and water pump, which were all in โas newโ condition. Also changed were all fluids and filters โ genuine parts only of course โ all original parts removed remain with the vehicle. A single stage machine polish has been carried out and here we have the vehicle ready for the new ownerโ.
For those who donโt know, the 22Bโs name is derived from the fact it boasts a 2.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder as opposed to the turbocharged 2.0-litre four that was in the regular WRX at the time. The 22B is without doubt the most iconic WRX of all time.
