Good things do come in small packages. Check out the 2-in-1 Lego Porsche 911 Turbo and Targa set.

Lego is getting better and better at the whole car thing. And its latest offering, the 2-in-1 Lego Porsche 911 Turbo and Targa set is its best yet.

The kit allows you to build either a 930 911 Turbo or a 911 Targa from the 1970s and 80s in what Lego is calling โ€œdual building routesโ€. You canโ€™t build both at the same time, itโ€™s either one or the other.

Anyway, the 1458-piece kit measures 35.5cm long when built, 16cm wide and 10.8cm high.

Depending on the variant you build, youโ€™ll get specific detailing like, Turbo badging, a wide rear axle, turbocharger and intercooler, and an integrated rear spoiler. If you build the Targa, the roof can be removed and stowed underneath the hood of the car, and you even get the Targa bar and a brick-built wraparound rear window. Cool.

On the inside, you get 2+2 sports seats and dashboard finished in dark orange and nougat, a colour scheme based on contemporary upholstery options from the Porsche 911. Thereโ€™s also a handbrake, gearshift and functional steering, while the front seats tilt forward for access to the rear bench seats.

Mike Psiaki, Design Master at the LEGO Group, commented: โ€œAs we were designing the car, the hardest decision to make was whether we would make the Turbo or Targa variant of the car. It was such a tough call that we engineered the ability to build the LEGO Porsche 911 Turbo and Targa from a single set. Without doubt, fans of the 911 all over the world who have long admired these cars will love the opportunity to build both versions!โ€

If youโ€™re a member of Legoโ€™s VIP loyalty program youโ€™ll get first dibs from 16 February. The kit will go on-sale to non-members on 1 March and is priced from $149.99.
