Updated 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia Priced and Detailed

Alfa Romeo Giulia

The 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia is on its way to dealerships around the country boasting improved tech and active safety features.

The updated 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia has been revealed and is on its way to dealers around the country with Alfa Romeo saying it had listened to customers and made key changes. These changes include improvements to the infotainment system which is now centred around an 8.8-inch screen as well as active safety updates.

โ€œWeโ€™ve listened to the consumer and we are excited to deliver the upgraded technology and safety features they have wanted,โ€ said Guillaume Drelon, Director, Product Strategy at Alfa Romeo.

The active safety updates have seen Traffic Sign Recognition with intelligent speed control, Active Blind Spot Assist (which works with lane keeping assist)  and Driver Attention Assist added to the list of safety features. While some will moan about the Giuliaโ€™s ability to adjust its speed automatically to match the posted limit, having used these systems before in Ford Focus, we can say that itโ€™s a good thing.

There are now three equipment grades available, which kicks off with the new Sport. Standard safety features across the range include new ADAS, including Traffic Sign Recognition with Intelligent Speed Control, Automatic High Beam Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and Driver Attention Assist. Further to this, Active Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) and pedestrian recognition, Integrated Brake System (IBS), and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) are all standard too.

The Giulia Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 147kW and 330Nm. This gets the Giulia Sport from 0-100km/h in just 6.6 seconds. Starting from $63,950+ORCs, the new Giulia Sport delivers more than 10% customer value compared to the Giulia base version it replaces, according to Alfa Romeo.
